GUSEINOV ISLAM RASULOVICH

Head of Cotton Varieties Selection Department

Master of Agriculture, Associate Member of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Born on January 25, 1952 in Bereke Village of Maktaaral District in the South Kazakhstan Region

 

Educational Background: He entered Tashkent Agricultural College in 1972.

Professional Career:​

Having got the degree in Agriculture in 1979, he worked as the Chief Agronomist at Pakhtaaral State Farm. From 1989 up to present, he has been engaged in the scientific activity on selection and seed production. In 1998, he passed PhD defense majoring in Selection and Seed Production at Uzbek Research Institute of Cotton Selection and Seed Production named after G. S. Zaitsev. Islam Rasulovich has been collecting his knowledge and experience during 33 years of work and scientific activity. His excellent lectures are heard by the directors of farming enterprises and individual peasant farms in the South Kazakhstan Region of Kazakhstan.

Guseinov Islam Rasulovich was awarded A. I. Baraev Merit Prize for breeding and implementation of new high-yielding cotton varieties in 2008. Moreover, he was awarded the Certificates of Regional Akimat and Maslikhat, as well as the Certificates of District Akimat. I. R. Guseinov is Master of Agriculture and author of more than 200 research papers, 3 books, 2 instructions, 5 recommendations and 3 methodologies on issues of selection and seed production of cotton, vine and green crops. He is the holder of 10 Inventor’s Certificates for selection invention and 11 patents on cotton varieties. The developed cotton varieties occupy more than 85% of cropped areas of cotton farms in the South Kazakhstan Region.
